About Us
Cornerstone Child Development Center is a child care center and preschool located in the St. Matthews neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. We provide a supportive, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment that provides each child with a quality early childhood experience, and promotes a life-long love of learning.
The CCDC teachers and staff are carefully selected based on their experience and education as well as their ability to provide a healthy and engaging classroom environment. Teachers and staff base the program practices on knowledge and research in the field of early childhood education. They are committed to continually improving and refining their teaching skills and strategies, and therefore seek out quality and relevant continuing education.
Ages
Our program is designed for children ages eight weeks old through the pre-kindergarten year. Students are grouped together based on both age and which class is the most developmentally appropriate.
Part to Full Time Enrollment
We offer full and part-time enrollment. Families can choose to enroll 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week. Families also have the option to add additional days on an as needed basis.

“It is a happy talent to know how to play”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Our Core Values
At Cornerstone we have five core values that shape our daily operations. These values are reflected in every aspect of our program, allowing us build a culture emphasizing the importance of respect, collaboration, growth, and PLAY.
Our Teaching Philosophy
Cornerstone provides a supportive and enriching environment that fosters each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Our underlying philosophy is that children learn through play. Our goal is to provide many kinds of play experiences while supporting each child’s progress at their own pace. All children have strengths, and we use these strengths to promote positive accomplishments.

“I shouldn’t have to defend play for children any more than I should have to defend their eating, sleeping, and breathing.”
- Rae Pica
